WINE MAKING
At the producer. Prolonged maceration for 4 weeks; indigenous yeasts; pumping over twice a day.
Elevation in French oak barriques (90%) and Slavonian oak (10%) for 14-18 months followed by a further 50 months of bottle aging.
Potential aging at the buyer's premises: 20- 25 years old. Particular vintages arrive, in crescendo, at a much later age.

Valle di Cialla in the municipality of Prepotto (Udine) – Friuli.

Roncjs; 1.72 hectares on a hillside, SSE exposure; altitude m. 150-165; owned.
Average age of the vines: 50 years.

Manual harvest in selection. Harvest period: first half of October.
