The origin of the name Recioto is not certain, perhaps it derives from the dialect "recie" (ears) which indicates the sugarier lateral gleanings of the bunches of grapes | perhaps it derives from the Latin "racemus" which means bunch or perhaps from "recis" a late medieval Latin word meaning detached and hanging bunches. With this Recioto della Valpolicella continues a history that has distant roots, in the tradition of an unmistakable quality since 1883
