VARIETY Basic blend of Refosco and Merlot.
COLOR A deep, dark, inky black, impenetrable but nevertheless lively and shiny.
BOUQUET The nose is an extract of overripe corn, withered red flowers, sweet spices and chocolate, distant references of tobacco and cocoa.
PAIRINGS A wine that loves to be drunk alone or, alternatively, with long-cooked game meats , with salmì or civet, or with the great mature cheeses of the Italian tradition.
FLAVOR In the mouth, the residual sugar is initially misleading, giving very soft and sweet sensations. Sensations which then disappear during tasting by virtue of its very high acidity and an incredibly extracted tannic charge. The finish is dry, warm, enveloping and characterized by unparalleled balance and elegance.
