Pesto di Segali Selvatci 190 gr Conserve Conti
The main ingredient of Conserve Conti's wild "Segali" Pesto is "rye", so called locally or also called in dialect: "Gidi", Giri" "Secala" in different areas of Sicily. The scientific name is “Beta Vulgaris L. Asp marittima (L.) Arc.”, the Italian commercial name is wild chard. With a delicate and not at all bitter taste, in Sicily it is customary to eat this vegetable boiled simply with a drizzle of extra virgin olive oil. Or seasoned with anchovies, tomato puree and breadcrumbs, “Giri cca muddica”. But it is also used after cooking as a condiment for pasta. Wild "rye" pesto in extra virgin olive oil is a condiment for pasta, both long and short pasta shapes.
