The Cantina di Ruvo di Puglia was founded in 1960, with an original nucleus of twenty-eight winemakers who joined together in a cooperative to increase their contractual strength in sales of the grapes, usually acquired by large national groups. Over the years, the Cooperative has changed its goals from a simple must producer to a winery capable of producing excellent bottled wines. Their brand Crifo derives from the historic cooperation "Cantina della Riforma Fondiaria", a brand that has always signed their wines. The challenge of the winery was to pass on this legacy by projecting these ancient traditional values into the present day, integrating them with progress and innovation in winemaking techniques and logistical organisation. The wine they make is a delicious nectar, which they baptize with the name of their land of origin. This is how Nero di Troia was born, which today is one of the best Apulian wines.
